FADHD, I made the 2023 list and couldn't post it due to task paralysis, so I'm posting it this year with some 2024 additions.
Join me at Sample Nation Live, a night dedicated to the art of sampling, where vinyl digging culture and hip-hop heritage collide! Based on my ITCH.FM radio show, Sample Nation, I’ll be spinning an extensive selection from my personal collection of classic UK and US Hip-Hop original samples. A mix of timeless Funk, Soul, and rare, strange breaks.
I’m thrilled to share that my short audio documentary, Saltwater Soul, was recently showcased to an audience of around 200 people at In The Dark’s What’s New? event. It was an honor to see the piece selected and presented alongside an array of creative and experimental audio from emerging producers.
trying to get over some ADHD task paralysis by re-upping old ITCH FM Sample Nation shows. Hopefully this will trick my brain into finishing and uploading the many interviews I have unedited and unreleased.
Enjoy these classic shows for now
Here are a collection of flyers and general photoshop or procreate peices i’ve made. Just so they’re all in one place
Around the peak of lockdown, when Coronavirus seemed out of control in the UK, I submitted a short audio diary to Cathy FitzGerald for her BBC Radio 4 piece Life on Lockdown.
The piece as a whole is just lovely, I still cry every time i listen to it. Cathy’s general good nature shines through in her story telling and in how she approached putting it all together.
My part starts around the 10.30min mark and just documents my experience of lockdown, how it increased contact with my father and the death of my Nan.
“Hip-Hop’s Laughing Stock” is broadcast on BBC Radio 4, Monday September 21st, 4PM
“Joe Jacobs is a failing rapper trying to make a career as a stand-up comedian. Where is the humour in hip hop?”
Hopefully there should be a few more coming soon.. but here are the two most recent interviews I produced, edited.. etc… etc..
